Jump Force Gets Piccolo and Cell As Characters
Jump Force is going to be a very interesting video game. In many it’s the “Smash Bros of the anime world”, because numerous anime franchises are going to be represented in the game. Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh, Hunter X Hunter, and more have been shown off in one form or another. And the setting is that these anime worlds have fused themselves onto Earth somehow, and now all of these characters are going to be fighting one another.
It seems like there’s been a roster reveal every few days or week, and so the roster keeps getting bigger. And now, via the latest issue of V-Jump, we can confirm that two more Dragon Ball characters are going to be entering the game. Cell, and Piccolo. Yes, they’re both green, we noticed.
At present, this means that Jump Force is going to have a very large Dragon Ball presence, more than any other franchise in the game, and even more than some franchises combined.
In a way, this makes perfect sense, for while many of the animes in the title have been brought over to the United States and have had various forms of success, Dragon Ball is by and large the biggest success. It’s had multiple animes, movies, and even video games brought over to big numbers here in the West, so it makes sense that many of the characters from the franchise are going to be in the game.
Piccolo was once an enemy of Goku, but then later came to the side of good and becamse a key part of the Z-Fighters, even helping raise Gohan to be a fighter himself.
Cell on the other hand is one of the most legendary villains in Dragon Ball history. A foe so powerful that it took many Z-Fighters to truly put him down.
Jump Force will arrive on February 14th.
