Ten and more years after it launched on the PlayStation 3, Tales of Vesperia comes to the PC in the form of Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition.
The game itself is a classic, and everyone who is a JRPG fan knows that. But, companies can often mess up a PC port in a lot of ways. Is this the case with Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition? No, thankfully, it’s not. The game runs smoothly, the HD graphics make this 10-year old game look pretty solid considering how old it is, and the PC port also introduces new mini-games, new bosses, and even some unreleased DLC for the original game. That’s something that we don’t see often, but it’s a great inclusion!
The only difference between the port and the original that some players complain about is the fact that a new voice actor was hired for the main character. Of course, to people that have never played the game this means nothing. But if you’ve played the game before this will definitely be a noticeable change, but nothing that will take too much from the experience.
This is a JRPG with great storytelling, charming characters, solid character customization, and best of all, it doesn’t have any technical problems. That’s quite surprising considering how these PC ports for JRPGs usually come out incredibly messy and really unoptimized.
Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition is definitely the title for you if you need another amazing JRPG to play!
