Two of the most critically acclaimed 2D puzzle-platformers ever made are being released together in a double pack later this year. From the independent developer Playdead, both INSIDE and LIMBO will be offered for £19.99, with the double pack presenting the black-and-white puzzle platformer adventure LIMBO, and the renowned 2D puzzle platformer INSIDE, along with an art card and limited run poster.
LIMBO was Playdead’s breakthrough game back in 2010. The game picked up several awards following its release, including Best Platformer, Best Puzzle Game, Top 10 Games of the Year 2010 and Most Original Game. It offered a niche atmosphere with its black and white and bleak art style, in a film noir visual aspect that wowed many gamers and a narrative open to interpretation.
This was a common theme throughout the studio’s follow-up game INSIDE, which was also met with critical acclaim, praised as Masterpiece by many critics across the industry. The dark, dystopian-esque style earned the game Best Game Design and Artistic Achievement awards, as well as Best Narrative and two Best Independent Game awards.
The INSIDE/LIMBO double pack will be available for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on September 12th in the U.S. followed by a release on September 15th in Europe.
