For Honor Getting Dedicated Servers For Season 05
Ubisoft sometimes gets a lot of flak for the games they make. Especially when it seems like all they’re doing is open-world titles like Assassin’s Creed and Ghost Recon. But, when they make something unique, it sticks out, and For Honor definitely did that. The title takes a very unique look at history, as Vikings, Knights, and Samurai all live in the same world, and they soon begin a fight for true supremacy. What’s more, Ubisoft has been delivering seasonal content to ensure that gamers keep enjoying the game.
So far, they’ve had four seasons, with the fourth about to wrap up. Then, on the 15th (to celebrate its one-year anniversary) season 05 is set to drop. Bringing with it the “Age Of Wolves”. This new season will feature lots of new content, but it’ll also feature a long-requested thing: Dedicated Servers. Ubisoft made the official announcement on their blog:
By changing the way you connect to For Honor matches, the development team is doing away with resyncing, session migrations, and NAT requirements in order to deliver stable connectivity on all platforms.
But that’s not all that’s coming, Ubisoft has promised that For Honor will be getting many changes that’ll focus on the “core gaming experience”, which means many systems and items will be re-tooled:
We will also be making a ton of quality of life changes including adjustments to gear progression, converting salvage to XP boosts, Faction War updates, and more. Following the launch of Age of Wolves, we will also be introducing new training modes that will assist with player onboarding.
Now, the catch with these additions is that Season 05 will not bring in a new hero (the previous four seasons did), and that’s because Ubisoft wants to improve and balance the system they have before adding anything new to the mix.
