Hitman HD Enhanced Collection Revealed
The Hitman series has been one of the more fan-favorite titles in gaming over the generations. For while there are many shooter titles in the world, Hitman has allowed you to be a killer with a more methodical approach. This change of pace resonated with gamers, and that has allowed IO Interactive to make many new titles in the franchise, including a successful reboot recently. But now, they’re going back to the past to bring you some fun via the Hitman HD Enhanced Collection.
This collection was announced on Twitter by IO Interactive, and it will bring two fan-favorites from the franchise together in the forms of Blood Money and Absolution.
“We’re very happy with this collection and how we were able to update and remaster two of our classic Hitman titles for modern consoles,” said IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak. “Hitman: Blood Money and Hitman: Absolution have helped us on our journey to where we are today, and we’re looking forward to players enjoying them in 4K and 60 fps.”
Ironically, Absolution was the best-selling game in the franchise, but it was also the last before the reboot. Many criticized it because of the reveal trailer that had Agent 47 going up against scantily clad nuns with guns.
As for Blood Money, this is the one that many consider to be the best of the franchise, and helped cement Hitman as a major franchise. So having these two together for an HD collection is very interesting.
Just as interesting is that the games are coming out really soon, like January 11th soon. That’s right, they’re only a week away.
Of course, last year marked the release of Hitman 2, the second game in the rebooted line, and if sales of that continue and the Hitman HD Enhanced Collection does well, we could get a new game announcement soon.
