Henry Cavil As Geralt Revealed
Everyone was surprised when they saw Henry Cavil cast as Geralt in the Netflix TV series, and now we get a look at him as the Witcher.
We talked about this casting choice before, and we weren’t quite sold on it. Henry Cavil is an excellent actor and all that, but he doesn’t seem fit for a grisly and gritty monster hunter. What do you think, judging from the picture above? The wig isn’t all that bad, but it isn’t anything spectacular either. It’s just that after playing so much of The Witcher 3, we aren’t used to seeing Geralt without his beard.
The problem with this short little Twitter video is that it shows Geralt mute. He’s just standing there, looking all brooding and angry. That part of the character they nailed quite perfectly. But, we wanted to hear him talk. Say a few words so we can see if Henry Cavil can nail the character’s way of speaking and presence with his voice. Geralt isn’t loud and he doesn’t have a deep voice, but when he speaks everyone pays attention.
Henry Cavil seems like he’s going to portray a slightly younger version of Geralt. Maybe the one before the events of the third game. It’s not yet certain, but from the looks of this video, Geralt is about to fight someone. His face is displaying aggression, and in the end, he drinks a potion. What do you think, what is this scene all about?
