Hearthstone Receiving Balance Changes After HCT Playoffs

Blizzard is always hesitant when it comes to Hearthstone balance changes, as there are lots of decks out there that some players love playing but others hate playing against. For example, there’s the version of a Warlock deck called Cubelock where you abuse the power of certain cards to get unfair advantages early on which ultimately snowball the game really fast. This is not fun to play against, as it’s basically just pure abuse of the game’s mechanics, so certain changes are going to be made after the HCT Playoffs end.

Some changes were made to a Wild card, Naga Sea Witch, but since a lot of players never actually enter that, we won’t be talking about it. But, we will focus on the nerfs that Cubelock is receiving, and they are directed at Possessed Lackey and Dark Pact. Possessed Lackey got his Mana Cost increased from 5 to 6, which is an amazing change as it gives aggro decks one turn more to kill the Warlock before he can pull out his Voidlord. Another tool that most Warlock decks use is Dark Pact, and its healing got reduced from 8 to 4. Now, if you’re playing any kind of aggressive deck, you’ll have a lot more chance of winning when you play against any kind of Warlock deck that isn’t zoo.

As far as the other changes go, Spiteful Summoner got its Mana Cost increased from 6 to 7, so you won’t get those huge tempo swings as early, the Quest card for Rogue was nerfed again, and the staple card in all aggro Paladin decks, Call to Arms, got its Mana Cost increased from 4 to 5.
