Hearthstone Ranked Battles Are Back Online
Games like Hearthstone revolve around certain types of gameplay, mainly, the ability to fight for a better rank. So, if that mode is taken out, the game just became a lot more limited. Blizzard made an update to the title recently that implemented changes to Ranked Play, yet, when people tried to play it, Blizzard announced that certain regions had it shut down, for a bug was in play. Mainly, a bug that wouldn’t allow progression for the player in the correct way.
This started out in a few places in Asia and Europe, then spread to the US, and Blizzard shut down Ranked Play for all of them. Now though, Blizzard has fixed the issue, explained what happened, and even revealed some compensation for the downtime.
Apparently, during some matches, players were getting additional stars, more than what they earned, this could seriously affect progression in numerous forms, and thus they had to shut Ranked Play down. But now, it’s fixed.
On Battle.net, they stated:
“We have implemented a hotfix for the issue that was affecting Ranked Play in all Hearthstone regions. We understand this kind of downtime is disappointing for our community, and we apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. As a token of our appreciation for your patience, we’d like to offer everyone three Kobolds and Catacombs card packs.”
The card packs will be distributed next week, and you can get them via the Redeeming function on your desktop or in the app, totally your choice.
Blizzard is very sorry for the disruption in your play, and they hope that you will jump back into Hearthstone when you get free time. While we know it’s never ideal to have to have a gameplay feature shut down, it’s good though that they caught it before it did more harm than good.
