If there’s one thing that the modern generations of consoles have done, is bring back the past in a big way. Some of it was through the bringing of things like the Virtual Console or other such services. But sometimes, they went the full gambit and just decided to remake the game with modern graphics. These HD Remakes or “remasters” as they called them have been numerous in the past years, and it doesn’t seem to be stopping. For example, the Assassin’s Creed franchise is apparently getting another one.
This is a bit ironic, for while the newest game in the series, Assassin’s Creed Origins, has done very well (even being the 2nd best-selling game of October), the entries leading up to it were not the most beloved by the fanbase. This includes the game that will be rumored to be getting an HD Remake, Assassin’s Creed Rogue. As you’ll see via the tweet below, the HD version has been posted on certain Italian stores:

Interesting indeed, no? If you don’t know the story of Rogue, it’s set in the French-Indian War, where one of the Assassins fails a mission, and decides to leave the order. In response, they try and kill him, betraying all he ever knew. This leads him to becoming one of the Knights Templar, and now going after and hunting down those that betrayed him.
It’s certainly one of the most daring of the series, putting a twist on the heroes and villains we have gotten to know. But it wasn’t the best-received. Or sold title. So, will it get an HD remake? Guess we’ll have to see.
