This past weekend saw the premier esport event of TwitchCon, Daybreak Games’ H1Z1 Invitational, come to a close after three days of drama and action. Offering a combined prize pool of $500,000, the competition was made up of three tournaments of H1Z1, making it the biggest invitational to date.
One competition starred the All-Stars of streaming and content creation for the game, whilst another brought together some of the world’s best at the shooter, and a third and final competition saw TwitchCon Challengers going head-to-head. Check out the recap video below for all of the action:
It was certainly a productive weekend for participants from Europe during the H1Z1 Invitational, with at least one European player in each tournament making the top 5, culminating in $160,000 of the prize money going that way. Poland’s Leh took second place in the All-Stars tournament, with TrilluXe from Germany making the top five also. Meanwhile, UK streamer RizaaR was successful in the Legends part of the tournament, hosting a number of esports veterans and pro players in the mix.
Over 214,000 concurrent viewers watched on to see 75 of the best take part in the All-Stars Invitational, making the H1Z1 Invitational one of the most-watched events at TwitchCon once again.
