GTFO is a horror co-op shooter, similar to Left 4 Dead, but with strange alien things instead of zombies. We just got a 9-minute video that shows us some gameplay, and the game’s chilling atmosphere.
Remember back in the day when you would gather with your friends and play Left 4 Dead together? And the game’s atmosphere and sound effects would drive you insane if you ended up somewhere alone? GTFO gives off the same kind of vibe to us as Left 4 Dead did when it first came out. Is that a good thing? Of course it is, there aren’t many horror shooters today that actually scare you.
From the unnerving sounds to the extremely low visibility and fog everywhere, this is a shooter with a powerful atmosphere. A really chilling atmosphere at that, and we are in love with it. Horror games today don’t rely on the use of ambient noises to send a chill down your spine. GTFO, on the other hand, does it masterfully. The sounds that you hear throughout the video if you have headphones on will terrify you. From the disgusting slithering noises that these creatures make to the terrifying roars of the big ones. Each noise is eerie and disturbing, as it should be.
The gunplay looks fairly solid, the graphics are ok, and all in all, this looks like a promising co-op horror shooter. The whole mantra of the game is to work with others. If you don’t, well, you’re going to meet a very grisly end.
