Konami has announced today a brand new update for Super Bomberman R, which comes with a free 3-vs-3 game mode as well as a host of new characters.
The new Grand Prix mode, which has been specifically designed to accommodate eSports initiatives going forward into the future, showcases a team versus mode which sees two teams of three who will face off in different arena stages with new characters armed with special abilities.
The Grand Prix mode includes different matches, such as the Crystal match, which has two teams competing to earn points by collecting crystals. Be careful in this mode mind, as the bombs will take away half of your crystals. Predictably, the team with the most points at the end is declared the winner. There’s also the Basic Bomber match, in which the two teams will use standard Bomberman rules with a set number of lives. The winner is decided by taking out your opponents to earn the most points before the timer depletes.
As well as these new modes, there are also nine new characters, plus World 7, which presents a new world added to the game’s story mode, with a variety of new stages and accessories also being added.
