Godhood, a really interesting and charming little god game is on its way, and it aims to bring many innovations to the god simulation genre.
God simulation games are very simple at their core. You get your followers, and then you act as a God and decide if you want to make their life enjoyable or extremely difficult. These types of strategy games are few and far between, mostly because they are hard to get right. But, Godhood may just be a new contender that brings some interesting new mechanics to the mix.
Crusader Kings II offers you many intricate and complex way to build and lead an empire. That is an example of a grand strategy. Godhood, on the other hand, let’s you lead your people into doing many things, like making human sacrifices. That’s right, pretty grim for a game with such charming graphics, but that’s the interesting parts. You don’t control these folk, you just indirectly guide them through religion. Make them value love, pets, murder, or lust, it’s your choice.
But, the most interesting part about this game is that you’re not the only god around. There are other divine beings with their own religions and followers in these lands. Now, what is the best way for religions to clash? By creating bloodbaths, of course, even though they are called Sacraments in this title. Your followers will try to prove their strength and faith in these battles. It seems like these Sacraments will be turn-based fights, and we’re interested to see how they’re going to be implemented.
Godhood seems like it’s going to be amazing little god simulation video game, so we are keeping our eye on it.
