What’s a better way to keep your game alive after launch than giving players free content? Unfortunately, a lot of game developers don’t do this as it obviously doesn’t make them any money, but Ubisoft decided to incorporate this tactic with Ghost Recon Wildlands.
The most obvious reason as to why they’re giving free content is because last year, the game received 13 updates with all sorts of improvements being made to the game, modes being added for free (Ghost War 4v4 PvP) and special events spicing up the gameplay (The Predator event). A lot of people played through the game’s first year, over 10 million of them, so the second year will also try to pull in as many people as possible. Both the campaign and the Ghost War PvP mode will be getting updated, and you can expect four big updates. They are called Special Operations, and we will get them for free. These content updates come with new items, new missions, and features that were requested by the players, and the first Special Operations is launching on April 10. It’s bringing a campaign mission, a new PvP mode called Sabotage, a new class, new perks, and the ability to give some fresh outfits to your AI teammates in the campaign.
Have you played Ghost Recon Wildlands yet? A lot of people are describing it as a “third-person Far Cry game”, and it was generally well received, so it’s definitely a title worth checking out.
