Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle Coming in 2018
It appears that Jason Vorhees isn’t content with just having his own asymmetrical horror game with Friday the 13th: The Game. The makers behind the award-winning Slayaway Camp will be making a frightening puzzler based on the hockey mask killer, who will be controlled by players to murder those who dare to visit Crystal Lake.
Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle will be making its way to mobile platforms next year, with Jason being navigated around an isometric puzzle level in order to get his hands on the unfortunate victims. This puzzle will include environmental hazards, including bear traps, campfires, woodchippers and more. There will also be “Kill Scenes” based on reflexes, which will see puzzling take another twist as you progress through several episodes, which include locations such as Manhattan, abandoned amusement parks, beach reosrts, supermax prisons and even outer space.
Sean Cunningham, the creator of the Friday the 13th series, commented: “I loved the balance of horror and humor the Blue Wizard guys brought to Slayaway Camp, and I’m thrilled to see their take on Friday the 13th.”
Meanwhile, Blue Wizard founder Jason Kapalka added: “Though it might surprise PopCap players, I’m a lifelong hardcore horror fan. But it’s pretty hard to make a terrifying game on your phone! As with Plants vs Zombies, we’re taking a more playful, tongue-in-cheek approach than is usual for Friday the 13th, while still paying genuine tribute to all those classic films.”
If you can’t wait until the release of this game in 2018, you might want to check out Friday the 13th: The Game for your Jason fix.
