Fortnite’s Numbers Keep On Growing
The constantly growing storm that goes by the name of Fortnite is taking over everything. This Battle Royale shooter just keeps getting more and more popular, and now, according to Matchmade, it is the most viewed game on YouTube, taking the crown from Minecraft and putting it on the second place. Will Fortnite stop anytime soon? Will a new game come out of the blue and become even more popular? We don’t know, but that kind of thing seems to be happening a lot in the gaming industry at the moment.
As you can obviously tell from the graph above, Fortnite is aiming for the skies. While all other games that were dominating the platform before like Minecraft, PUBG, and Clash Royale, started to see their views drop, Epic Games’ Battle Royal shooter just keeps attracting more and more people to play it, and watch it get played. We saw just how much people are eager to watch the game when a Spanish YouTuber called ElRubiusOMG reached 1.1 million views when he was streaming a clash between the top 100 streamers in Fortnite. It’s not just about how popular the game is getting, it’s also about HOW FAST the viewership for it grows. On Matchmade’s post it says:
During the past 6 months, The average month-to-month growth rate of Fortnite viewership on YouTube is +97%.
Obviously, you can mostly expect to see Fortnite gameplay all over YouTube, but you won’t see the PvE mode anywhere, as all eyes are focused on the Battle Royale mode, which is also free-to-play.
