Fortnite’s “Ninja” Accused Of Getting People Banned
When you have fame, and are making money off of that fame, it makes you a target by those who want to take you down a peg. Whether it’s finding you and killing you in a game, or slandering your name in real life, it can be a big problem. For Tyler Blevins, aka Ninja, his life in Fortnite has been a lot more hectic recently. While playing a game, he “reported” on someone for having a higher Ping rate than him, which led to him getting killed in a match. And that’s where things got weird…
For the guy he “reported” was “banned” later on, and that person started to say that Ninja had gotten Epic Games to ban him because he lost. Epic Games responded to this:
“We take the reporting and actioning of accounts very seriously,” a representative from Epic Games said. “We treat every report the same and follow the same process to determine what action is necessary. There are two accounts involved in this: Account A which was the account originally reported by Ninja and Account B which is tied to a YouTube video we discovered.”
Epic Games then broke down that the two accounts were both owned by the same person that Ninja had “reported”, and that one of them got banned for reasons not relating to what happened with Ninja. So he was actually innocent in the whole matter.
Not that this matters to the internet, for as Ninja himself noted, he’s getting a lot of hate because of this:
“It won’t go away, man. The damage is done. The guy made a complete fabrication, slandered my name, framed the whole thing, and it worked. I’m getting hate on every single social media (site).”
Still, he noted he’ll get through this, and that it’s more of an “annoyance” than anything. But still, don’t believe everything you see on the internet!
