Fortnite Will Have Downtime Today For New Patch

Fortnite was originally a game that was relatively under the radar for quite some time. With Epic Games announcing that they were looking to bring a free to play game to the masses, the title was originally locked behind a ‘Founders Pack’, though it would eventually release to critical acclaim, which is what we know it for today.

Speaking of today, there is some news coming in regarding what the game is up to. In around an hour’s time (1PM GMT), Fortnite will be taken down by Epic Games in order to implement another patch. It isn’t quite as extensive as the last one, with it just being the support for the Korean language being added. Fortnite launches in Korea today, and is bound to attract a whole new audience to the game.

As for the last patch, you will have noticed a huge map update, with a new city, underground mine shafts, and many other areas of interest being introduced. There has also been improvements made to voice chat, the Scoped AR, as well as Battle Pass bonuses and the end of the Winter Event. In terms of the Winter Event, this has been extended in the Save the World mode until January 24th.

Fortnite is now available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
