Fortnite Weapon Swapping Changed Once Again
Even though Fortnite is dominating the video game industry right now as the most played battle royal shooter, it still has its issues. For example, one of the newest weapons that was added to the game, the Guided Missile which allowed you to fire a rocked and control it, was removed from the game as it was apparently too powerful and it offered too much precision when it came to destruction. The new weapon equip timer also received a hotfix that doesn’t affect weapons like the sniper rifles and crossbows, but it does affect the delays for the shotguns, the rocket launcher, the revolver, and the hand cannon, which you could whip out after emptying a clip of another weapon to finish off your enemy.
We kind of understand why the Guided Missile got removed from the game, as it was a highly destructive weapon that you could control, which meant that your opponents couldn’t run away from it once you locked on to their location. This weapon will remain in the vault until the balance team finds a way to make it into a weapon that is fun to use but not too oppressing for the players that are playing against it.
Another thing that was changed again was the weapon equip time, which was reverted for the sniper and the crossbow as they didn’t get any benefits from fast weapon switching. The delays for the revolver, the rocket launcher, shotgun, and the hand cannon aren’t reverting since players took advantage of the weapon equip time to lay constant fire with one weapon and then swiftly switch to another when they run out of bullets. This meant that they could empty a clip on one weapon and then quickly change to another in order to gun you down, which is really impressive and it’s not fun to play against.
