Fortnite Was Most-Played Switch Game In Europe
How long do you play a game? That is the question that many ask when it comes time to recount how much time one has spent in a year playing a certain kind of video game. With 2018 now two weeks since closing, many are looking back and seeing what were the most-played games of the year. Nintendo especially was looking at this for their Nintendo Switch, and in Europe, the most-played game was…Fortnite.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise, Fortnite on Switch launched in June of last year, and had over 2 million downloads in just the first day, so multiply that by six months of new buyers and users and it makes sense that it made it to the top of the list. Here is the full list as revealed by the Switch News channel:
- Fortnite
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- Super Mario Odyssey
- Splatoon 2
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- FIFA 19
- Minecraft
- Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu
- Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee
- Xenoblade Chronicles 2
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
- Rocket League
- Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle
- Pokemon Quest
- Stardew Valley
- Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2
- Octopath Traveler
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
- Paladins
- Super Mario Party
- Mario Tennis Aces
Having Breath of the Wild as No.2 actually isn’t much of a surprise. In fact, it’s a little bit expected. It’s easily the biggest game in terms of content on Switch, and since there were many new Switch users in 2018 that needed to play the game since the beginning, that meant a lot of play time for the title.
