Fortnite Tops Nintendo Switch Downloads For September
Fortnite has basically been dominating the gaming world since the beginning of the year. Every time that the game gets a big update, or big new content, gamers react to it, and as such, the game continues to prosper. One of the biggest things it did in recent months was that the popular Battle Royale game came to Nintendo Switch, one of the hottest consoles on the market. Since it did, the game has been doing really well in terms of monthly downloads, and that hasn’t changed in September.
Nintendo released a full list of the top 30 games to be downloaded via the Nintendo eShop on the Switch, and not surprisingly, Fortnite was on top. Here’s the full list:
1. Fortnite
2. Undertale
3. Hollow Knight
4. Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition
5. Super Mario Party
6. Overcooked 2
7. Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD
8. Capcom Beat ‘Em Up Bundle
9. Human: Fall Flat
10. Rocket League
11. Stardew Valley
12. Dead Cells
13. Into The Breach
14. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

25. Okami HD
26. Dragon Ball FighterZ
27. ACA NeoGeo Metal Slug
28. Zelda: Breath of the Wild
29. Super Mario Odyssey
30. Mario Tennis Aces
Though Fortnite was indeed on top, there were some other interesting titles placed in the top 30. For example, Dragon Ball FighterZ was only 26th. Granted, it only came out on the 26th of September, so that could be a big factor, and possibly gamers only wanted the physical version, but given the hype for the game on Switch, you’d expect it to do better.
Undertale and Hollow Knight at No.2 and No.3 is also surprising, but in a good way, proving that indie games still are dominating on Nintendo Switch.
