Fortnite To End Fortnitemares Event Soon
Fortnite continues to prove over and over again just how beloved the game is, and Epic Games continues to prove that the title has legs by giving it more and more events and special modes for gamers to enjoy. Case and point, to honor the now past Haloween holiday, they made an event called “Fortnitemares”, which put a spooky twist on everything. And players enjoyed it, but, to all things, there is an end. For this mode, the end is coming very soon apparently.
For those who have never played the event, don’t fear, it’s still going on now, here’s the breakdown for it:
“During Fortnitemares, you’ll face off against Cube Monsters in a whole new way of playing Battle Royale,” boasts the blog from Epic Games. “There are new weapons to fight back against these creepy creatures, like the Six Shooter and Fiend Hunter Crossbow. Take out the Cube Fiends and Fragments to pick up loot, and survive against enemy players.”
Now, as for why we know it will be ending so, Epic Games teased it out during a post yesterday on their Twitter handle. Here is what they said:
Fortnitemares in Battle Royale ends on Sunday, November 4 at 1pm ET/ 6pm UTC. Finish your Fortnitemares Challenges by then to unlock the Dark Engine Glider. Login early and be in-match to witness the one-time event which starts at 1pm ET/ 6pm UTC.
So as you can see, you still have some time to play the event mode and get the most out of it before it closes down for presumably the next year. However, as Epic Games does listen to player feedback, they could bring it back if you’re up for it.
In the meantime, with Thanksgiving and Christmas now on the way, you can bet that Epic Games has a lot in mind for Fortnite.
