Fortnite Pro Team Gets A 13-Year Old Member
You shouldn’t be surprised by this headline, as everyone who plays Fortnite gets destroyed by a 13-year old kid at some point. They may be children, but they are really good at this game as they are playing it constantly, so their skill level is actually quite astonishing. With that in mind, let’s talk about how Team Secret, which is an eSports conglomerate, invited Kyle Jackson to join their brand new pro Fortnite team. Keep in mind that Epic still hasn’t announced any competitive Fortnite eSports events or anything like that, but with the amount of attention that this battle royal is getting, there will be some sooner or later.
Ok, so he’s 13-years old, but doesn’t mean much when he can gun down three people on his own in the game. But, there are some restrictions in esports events and programs, and in some, the participants must be 18 years old and above. That is a big problem for Kyle, as he’s not going to be 18 anytime soon. His teammates are 21-, 20- and 17-years old., which could be a problem as there are some that are much older than he is, so that might spark up some problems within the team. But, as long as everyone is playing a game that they love and working together, there shouldn’t be any issues.
John Yao, the CEO of Team Secret, said:
“I actually had no idea he was 13 until the team told me,”
“Because when we looked at some of the videos and we looked at their game play, it was not apparent. What immediately stood out to me was how mature he was, and he sounded just like one of the other guys.”
He basically said the same thing as we did, as long as he can play Fortnite at a professional level, there should be no issues. You can read more about all of this on the ESPN post.
