Fortnite On Mobile Has Brought In Over 1 Million Dollars In 3 Days

As sad as it may sound, you can usually tell how well a video game is doing within the first few days of its launch. This is mainly because people like to monitor such things and bring news about how well it’s doing. In the case of AAA title, this is even more heavily watched. Fortnite has been out on console for a while now, but it recently made the jump to mobile via iOS devices recently. Though technically an “invite only” event, it’s already doing incredibly well. Not just in download numbers, but also in revenue.

According to Sensor Tower, within the first 72 of launch on iOS, the mobile version of Fortnite raked in $1.5 million dollars. Naturally, this puts the mobile version of the title in the #1 spot of its genre, which has been slowly filling up with new games recently. And you must remember, that this was only the iOS version via an “invite only” progression. So, when it arrives on Android, comes to certain other regions, and is open to everyone…you can expect that number to boom.

It also should be noted that these purchases weren’t for anything that could “change” the game, they were all cosmetic purchases. Meaning that players were buying gear for their characters to change their look, nothing else. That shows how much people like these cosmetic options.

Fortnite has been on a roll in the last few months, even topping its rival in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds in terms of concurrent player base, views on Twitch, and more. This is largely due to developer Epic Games, who have been doing a magnificent job with bringing new content to the their title since launch and its Battle Royale addition. Players are never bored with the game, and now that it’s coming to/is on mobile, that’s not likely to change.
