Graduations are meant to be symbols that prove that you have moved from one part of your life into another. From grade school to high school, and then high school to college, and sometimes from college to grad school. Each time, you’re making a step into the future. But…how people celebrate that future can sometimes be…unique. And in a new trend that I sense will be continuing for some time, students are doing Fortnite emotes and victory dances doing their graduation.
No, I’m honestly not joking here. Many students are doing it all over the United States, and here are two examples of such emotes. Including one duo who does a victory dance together. It’s actually perfectly timed to be honest with you. And more tweets have flooded in saying that the game is being mentioned all over, including in the commencement speeches for said graduation events. Which, is apparently creeping some students out.
But wait, there’s more. Anyone who has been to a graduation knows that the ceremony is LONG. Especially when you have a big class of students. So, many are taking the opportunity to play the mobile version of Fortnite to help pass the time until they get their diplomas.
While this may seem rude, or just plain odd for those who don’t know the game well, it proves how much Fortnite has impacted players since its release and boom last year. And no doubt this “new publicity” will get people even more interested in the game and want to try it out themselves. Epic Games has been cleaning up since the boom of the game, and the mobile version has been helping out great as well. And Season 04 of the main game has been getting a lot of attention, all things seem to be looking up for the title.
