The latest developer update video for Fortnite reveals changes that are being made to the game’s Battle Royale mode, which mainly focus on built-in voice chat and sensitivity of the scope, which can also be adjusted. This will also see the addition of new weaponry, which will be selected based on how the devs feel they will fit around “the core gameplay.”
Epic has also gone into detail on what their plans are regarding consumables: “the area that’s probably in biggest need of improvement. One of the prototypes we’re working with right now is a potion that allows you to heal above 75 health and will give you some shield as well. We’re toying with making that a benefit over time so there’s a risk associated with using it.”
Another set of features that are in the works are account progression and character customization, as well as SMG improvements and aim assist, plus visible grenade arcs, and a feature that will see you pick up items when you walk over them known as “ammo vacuum.” Players can also expect to see alterations to the assault rifles, as the developers look to make them more accurate whilst moving, whilst reducing the bullet spread and increasing the recoil.
