Fortnite Battle Royale Set To Get Big Update
Fortnite Battle Royale has done very well for itself considering where it started out. The game had an interesting premise in the base game, but once the free Battle Royale mode was added, people flocked to the title, especially since it was on console and not just PC (like rival PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds was when Fortnite launched). And now, it’s working to maintain and sustain its playerbase through major updates. Epic Games has made a tweet with a video update to highlight some of the things that’ll be coming in a major update.

Don’t want to watch the video? Don’t worry, we got you covered. First and foremost, Fortnite Battle Royale is about to get a brand new map update. This one will bring “a bunch of new points of interest”, one of which is allowing you to go into the city. The team at Epic Games felt the title was a little constricting on where to drop into, so they opened it up a bit.
Furthermore, the map will also feature more details in terms of the areas you are in. Now defined as “biomes”, the games separated areas will feel more in-tune with what they are. For example, the swamps will feel “Swampier”, the mountains will feel more like a mountain range, and so on and so forth. Again, this all goes towards making the map something you as players will want to be explore and take advantage of in the battles themselves.
Now, as for when the update is coming, it’s scheduled for next week. But, when next week is unclear. Being as it was yesterday when they announced it, we think mid-to-late next week would be an accurate guess.
