Final Fantasy XV Getting “New Story” Via Next DLC
Final Fantasy XV has been one of the best games in the franchise. It gave gamers a powerful story to enjoy, loveable characters that have become ingrained in the culture, a battle system that was fun to play with, and thanks to DLC, lots of things to enjoy after the game. Square Enix is still aiming to bring even more to the title via more DLC, and in an interview, one of the heads of the dev team teased what’s coming.
Polygon talked with Hajime Tabata who promised big things were coming to Final Fantasy XV:
“There’s still this kind of connection between us and the users. So why not try and create something new based on that need? That’s what we want to do with the next DLCs: create an active relationship with the users. We want to thoroughly secure the story in places where people think there are some pieces missing in the puzzle — we want to alleviate those issues.”
But make no mistake, while filling the holes is important to Tabata, he also noted that what’s coming next will be completely new:
“At the same time, we want to build something new with the users, create a different sort of possibility with the direction that the story of Final Fantasy XV could head. That’s something that’s going to be new, and it’s going to be pretty exciting to make. The next DLC will be a brand new story. Last year’s DLC was already initially planned from the main game. [Episodes] Ignis, Gladiolus, and all that — that was Season One. This will kind of be like moving into a Season Two.”
When we can expect this DLC is a bit up in the air, but when it does arrive, you can expect it to be something special for sure.
