There’s exciting news for Final Fantasy XV fans, as they will soon have the chance to learn all about the untold story of Ignis’ battle against Leviathan that occurs in the main game. The latest trailer that has dropped, entitled “Episode Ignis,” shows off some of the challenges that he came face to face with whilst trying to protect the protagonist of the RPG, Noctis.
The latest DLC episode will release on December 13th, which will offer players a new storyline from the point of view of Ignis, with new music from Yasunori Mitsuda, known for work on Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross and Xenogears. This new narrative is unknown to Noctis, who remains unconscious following the Trial of Leviathan. Ignis therefore has to battle on the streets of Altissia to protect Noctis by any means necessary.
Meanhwile, combat takes a new twist as Ignis’ spelldaggers can be imbued with elemental properties, with “Total Clarity” allowing him to attack several enemies at once. There’s also a new comrade in Ravus, with previous appearances from Cor in Episode Gladiolus and Aranea in Episode Prompto, and will join up to fight alongside Ignis.
What’s more, players will be the master of their own fate, with the episode featuring multiple endings, with different outcomes of events taking place.
Final Fantasy XV is now available on PS4 and Xbox One.
