FarmVille Is Shutting Down After 11 Years
FarmVille, one of the most popular Facebook titles, is shutting down after a long and successful 11-year lifespan.
Damn this really is an end of an era. I don’t know about you, but I was once obsessed with FarmVille. Planting crops and raising my animals for a 13-year old me was relaxing and exciting at the same time. It also taught me to be responsible and hardworking if I wanted to earn money and expand my assets. FarmVille isn’t a groundbreaking title, but at the time, it was something that consumed many people. Heck, I would go into my computer science class and everyone, even the teacher, was harvesting their wheat.
That’s why it’s so heartbreaking that FarmVille is actually shutting down after all these years. Many are quite depressed following their announcement, and I can understand them. This is the definition of a casual game, but one that would overtake your free time after a while until you have to set up alarms to wake up and harvest your crops as soon as they were ready for reaping. This title even made people appreciate farming and inspired them to start planting in real life. At least it’s had a wonderful run of 11 years where many found peace and relaxation on the FarmVille farms.
In-app purchases are available until November 17th, and the game will be playable until December 31st, 2020. Farewell FarmVille, thanks for all the wonderful memories.
