Far Cry has always been a very interesting franchise for Ubisoft. For while it may have started off as a basic action title with a few twists, it’s evolved into a franchise known for its open worlds, psychotic characters, and chilling choices that it faces players to make the upcoming Far Cry 5 is no different. For in this new title coming next year, you’ll have to go against a cult in Montana, and how you choose to do that will affect the world around you in grand fashion.
It’s been clear for a while that the game was going to have an impressive amount of detail. From the world around you, to the characters you interact with, and more, there’s a lot going on here. And Ubisoft has been showing off some impressive things on their Twitter feeds (including some actor interview we hope to show off later). One of them though showed off the dangers of a flamethrower.

As you’ll see in the video above, you will indeed be able to burn your foes alive, but that doesn’t mean they die instantly, they can attack you. And if they’re on fire when they attack you, you become on fire. The fun detail here though is that you see your character try and pat down the fire to make it go away. It’s the little details that make games like Far Cry 5 shine.
Of course, this is just the smallest part of what makes Far Cry 5 an impressive title. The scope of Hope County is impressive, including how far Ubisoft went to ensure that the world truly represented what Montana was like. As well as the fact that the game is filled with quests and activities that truly reflect what surrounds you.
Far Cry 5 arrives March 27th, 2018.
