Far Cry 5 Trailer Shows Off The Resistance
It’s a whole new set of rules in Far Cry 5. For the game doesn’t put you against a central antagonist per se, though there is one there for you to fight. Instead, the entirety of Hope County, a fictional setting in Montana, is besieged by the cult known as Eden’s Gate. You are thrown into this war, and now, you’ve got to try and stop it. But how you do that will affect how the game affects you, and a new trailer shows exactly how that’ll work.
In “The Resistance”, you’ll see how Eden’s Gate works in some ways, and how you’ll need to try and stop them. You’ll need to make runs against them, not just open combat strikes, but taking out their supplies, their convoys, mess with their support system to get them riled up. But as the narrator notes, the more you do, the more they’ll respond, and respond with deadly force.
But stopping a cult doesn’t have to be a one-man job. Instead, the more you do, the more people you’ll meet in The Resistance, and if you win them over, they’ll help you in the field. There are snipers, archers, dogs, helicopter pilots, flamethrower-wielding rednecks and…a mountain lion? Yep, that’s Far Cry for you.
The goal here is to build up the Resistance meter in each section of the country, the more you do, the more The Resistance will be willing to help you, and it all ends with the takedown of the head of Eden’s Gate, Father Joseph Seed.
Even with all that to do, Far Cry 5 still has plenty of other options for you, including numerous side activities and quests that’ll take you away from the main story. The game is massive, and you’ll find yourself lost in it when the game arrives March 27th.
