Far Cry 5 To Challenge What You Think About Action Games
One of the purest joys of action games is being able to get away from it all. To do something fun, not have to worry about things getting too deep, and just whiling away the hours on your favorite game. But, there are also titles that do the opposite, where they give you a deep experience, especially in the story, and it makes you think more about what’s going on in the game and in the world. And one game that’s trying to be that is Far Cry 5.
For Game Director Dan Ray recently chatted with The Telegraph, and gave some interesting insight into the things that players might feel and be challenged to do as they go against a cult in Montana.
“I think the question that The Father will ask is “Can every problem be solved with a bullet? Is that really what you want to do, is that really how you want to operate?” I think that the player will discover those themes and have an opportunity to explore that, or candidly not.”
Indeed, that does sound like a deep theme. And given the lengths that the team at Ubisoft are going to in order to sure that this cult is something special, we would be surprised if that’s the only message the Father spreads. For he’s trying to inspire many to join his cause and take Hope County to new heights, and you just might help with that.
What’s more, Ray notes that Ubisoft had the mindest to both keep the game entertaining, with plenty of action and fights should you want them, but to also appreciate the more “stoic moments” that players want at times. So whether you want to take down the cult in the most action-packed way possible, or you want to try and find another way, Far Cry 5 might just have the options you need.
