Far Cry 5 Has Been Delayed
It’s a truth of the game industry that at times a game must be delayed in order to protect the quality of the title. And it is in that vein that Ubisoft has made a post on their official blog saying that Far Cry 5, among other titles, has been delayed. The original release date for the anticipated title was February 27th, and now, it’ll be on March 27th. So, as you can see, it’s honestly a very small delay, but that extra month will apparently be used well by the Ubisoft team.
“For Far Cry 5, the extra time will allow the team at Ubisoft Montreal to make some additional improvements that will bring the best, most ambitious Far Cry experience in line with the team’s original vision.”
It is true that this is going to be the “most ambitious” Far Cry game yet, as Ubisoft has gone to great lengths to try and make it unique. Not only have they looked at past games like Far Cry 4 and Far Cry Primal and picked out gameplay elements that could be built upon or transformed, they looked at the very world of the game and literally went to Montana to recreate it. So, if they don’t think the game will be truly ready by then, you kind of have to believe it.
But, Ubisoft also revealed that The Crew 2 has also been delayed. Unlike Far Cry 5 though, this one doesn’t have a new release date, merely a release window of the first half of the fiscal year. Given the way Ubisoft has billed The Crew in the past, it’s likely they want to make sure that this game really hits with fans.
Reports are also saying that unnamed title from Ubisoft was also delayed via this shift in release dates. However, what that game is, isn’t known at present.
“and literally went to Montana to recreate it”. uuuuu, how grand of them! it MUST be an amazing game them!
