Fallout 76 Will Not Launch On Steam
Haven’t we already seen what happens when your game gets its own launcher? It seems like Bethesda didn’t, as their upcoming online shooter, Fallout 76, won’t launch on Steam.
We are all still patiently waiting to play the game to see how good it will be. It is the first Fallout title to be online, and it has a V.A.T.S. system that is in real-time. There are many things about this game that don’t feel right, but we will have to wait and see. We do know now that the testers that get to play the game will have full access to Fallout 76 and their progress is going to be saved for the full launch.
There is still the question of why Bethesda is giving Fallout 76 its own launcher. Most games that do that end up having various problems, like bugs, interface complications, and constant updates that don’t happen on Steam. We found out about this in the game’s FAQ which said that the B.E.T.A. is going to be available on the PC via Bethesda.net only.
Also, in a PCGamer article, we found out that Bethesda won’t launch Fallout 76 on Steam even later down the line. Steam is a no-go, but if they have trouble with their own launcher, they are probably going to change their mind. Still, maybe the launcher ends up being amazing, you never know.
Hi there! Can you confirm this with Bethesda please? I preordered a Steam key at HRK Shop, but if no Steam release is planned, I dont want to have this game anymore.
