Fallout 76 Teased By Bethesda
Bethesda made an odd move yesterday by going onto Twitch and putting their iconic “Please Stand By” screen up for all to see. This prompted a lot of speculation about what was going on. Clearly, it was a reference to Fallout, but in what capacity? Was it going to be a new title? An expansion to Fallout 4? Or something else entirely? Well, eventually, gamers got their answer, and Bethesda showed off the first teaser trailer for Fallout 76.
Interestingly enough, Vault 76 has actually been referenced in past Fallout titles, but has never been a focal point or visited spot in any of the games. Until now that is. The teaser trailer showed something much different than previous Fallout vaults did. For this one doesn’t seem to have fallen into disarray, anarchy, or anything of the like. And depending on how you take the words stated in the trailer, this vault was apparently humanity’s best hope for rebirth after the nuclear war ended. Even showing a party area celebrating “Reclamation Day”.
Now, given the nature of the Fallout series, it’s clear that something will go wrong, it could just be that these people go out into the world and realize that it’s much different than they thought it would be, which could be part of your journey.
As for location, it’s still unclear, however, the classic song “Take Me Home Country Roads” played throughout the trailer, which is a song about West Virginia, so that could be the location, but again, it’s unclear.
We may not have to wait long for new information about Fallout 76 though, as E3 2018 is coming, and just before the stream, Bethesda’s Todd Howard came forward and said that there would be more about the game revealed at their press conference at the event.
Either way though, it’s clear…war never changes.
