Fallout 4: New Vegas Still Being Made, Development Plans Changed Though
While it’s true that video games are the designs of its creators, that doesn’t mean that players can’t have fun with those designs and make them better or even newer. This is how modding game to be, and it’s a key part of the video game world. And as such, you see a lot of projects going around that are modding at its absolute finest. However, there are rules and limits as to what you can and should do with modding. Not following them can get you in trouble, and the team behind the Fallout 4: New Vegas mod know that.
This team is working hard to make a version of Fallout: New Vegas within the engine of Fallout 4, and then some. However, another Fallout mod was recently shut down by Bethesda because it infringed upon a contract. As such, people wondered of F4NV would be next. Well, on their website, they revealed this wasn’t the case, but, changes in how they make the game will happen.
Long story short, their sister mod was going to use the voice acting from Fallout 3 in their mod, which was a violation of Bethesda’s contract with the voice actors who helped make that game. The Fallout 4: New Vegas team talked about this with Bethesda in regards to their mode and came up with their own solution:
“Core to this is the newest portion of our development team, the Voice Acting department. Team F4NV had initially considered setting up a voice team during its early days, and a study on the requirements and feasibility of this was discussed in-depth, factoring the amount of acting needed per-character, number of characters voiced by how many voice actors, and a number of other key factors.”
We highly recommend reading their blog post to see all they have planned to ensure that their voice acting in the game is quality and how they’ll continue to develop the mod.
