ESO Players Are Angry About In-game Mounts
Don’t think that players are angry about the mounts themselves, that is not the issue here, but they are quite mad that there are 74 mounts in the game, and you can only obtain FOUR of them through in-game means. The lockbox and the cash shop are the only way to obtain the rest of them. Wouldn’t you be angry if there was a mount that you wanted to have, but you can only get it through luck or by paying real money for it? LordWolfs, a Reddit user, started a thread where he talks about the unfairness of this whole situation.
This sort of thing would be pretty normal in a free2play MMORPG, but this is a game that you have to buy, and it has many expansions that you also have to buy. This is pretty horrible treatment, and even though it is nothing major, you should still let your players get the mount they want to by playing the game, and not by spending their money on the game again after they purchased it. LordWolfs said in his Reddit post:
The mounts are just one example of many. Since 2014 the only mounts you can purchase in game are the same 4 from when the game was released. Also with recent rulings in other countries I imagine crown crates would be deemed gambling in those countries. Which it obviously is.
Will anything change in ESO? Will players be able to obtain more mounts in-game without having to pay for them with real money or by relying on luck? Let’s hope that things change, as an MMORPG stays alive if it makes its player happy, and unhappy players will leave and look for better games.
