Elder Scrolls: Legends Getting New Developer, New Update
The Elder Scrolls franchise has provided us with some really big RPG titles, but the team at Bethesda know how to branch out the series in big ways as well. They made the MMORPG in the world of the series via the Elder Scrolls Online, and then, they turned it into a card game via The Elder Scrolls: Legends. Both of which has been very successful, but now, Legends is about to go through a major change, as the game is about to get a new developer.
The original developer, Dire Wolf Digital, is stepping down, and Sparkpants Studios is stepping up. With the switch, Elder Scrolls: Legends will be getting a lot of new things via an update. But, as Pete Hines of Bethesda told IGN, the game at its core will still be what you remember:
“When players get their hands on the new version it will still play like the game they know and love. Their collections will be intact, the in-game store will offer the same items, the keywords and mechanics will all still be there.”
It’s good to hear that the game isn’t getting a reboot, as many like the title how it is now. Apparently, Bethesda is doing this swap because they have big plans for the future of the title, and they want to see its full potential used.
Many are weighing in on the swap, including Bethesda’s Community Manager on Steam:
In my humble opinion, this announcement is great. I heard about these developments when I interviewed here and it’s been the thing I’ve most been excited to show. Can’t wait to see what’s possible for Legends in the future, and we’re getting tons of feedback atm at the summit.
We’ll just have to see if this truly pans out, and what the future of the game truly holds.
