Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Multiplayer Gets New Patch
It’s amazing what players can do with passion and the right resources. Player mods and upgrades can be found throughout many titles, and some developers even praise modders for their hard work and clever content. And then, there are those who just want to make a game even better, and thus try and bring something new to a game. In the case of Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, the game didn’t have a multiplayer feature. So, some gamers took the time and made one happen. It’s still in development, but it’s well on its way to success.
But, as is the case with much of video game development, there are always small setbacks on the road to full release. In this case, an upcoming update (which greatly advances the title and its code) has caused some changes that the team have to make note of. And they did so in a Steam update:
Although major version 0.7 will be an amazing step forward for TES3MP, its improvements to our scripting and networking systems have required rewriting those systems from the ground up, and that has been taking a realistic amount of time instead of the amount we were hoping for. It’s fair to say that it has grown into our largest version ever.
Because of this, minor versions of updates are coming, or are out now. But even in these “minor updates”, there is still some progress to be seen. For example, the character models can now both move and talk like NPC’s, and you can select what they can do at any point by entering in the command prompt.
There has also been some major scripting enhancements, removing the limitations that the previous update gave the game. Naturally, there have also been some bug issues that have been solved, see the full patch notes for not only the full breakdown but also how to switch to the newest version of the game.
