EA reportedly canceled a lot of games these last few years, and it seems a Star Wars Battlefront spinoff was one of them.
EA took down a lot of Star Wars project these last few years. Visceral Games were shut down in 2017. Those guys were reportedly working on a game codenamed Ragtag. When that project was canceled the people over at EA Vancouver used elements from Ragtag for another Star Wars title codenamed Orca. Then at the start of 2019 that also got shutdown. Quite a spree for EA, but things changed once Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order came out. That was a hit that no one expected to do as well as it did. Star Wars Battlefront II also improved immensely over the years, and it is now quite a fun multiplayer shooter with a heap of content.
It’s a shame that EA pulled the plug on a Star Wars Battlefront spinoff that was supposed to release this year, according to Kotaku. EA Vancouver and Criterion Games didn’t coordinate the project well, and it crumbled under mismanagement quickly. It’s a shame, as now EA knows how to do Star Wars games properly without riddling them full of microtransactions and other bullshit.
EA canceled a lot of Star Wars games. Yet, there are still some out there that are excellent. Both Battlefront II and Fallen Order are outstanding video games. One is a narratively-driven single-player ARPG, the other a multiplayer shooter. You can purchase both of them on HRK Game for an outstandingly cheap price right now!
