Duelyst Tactical Battler Card Game Shutting Down
Duelyst, the cool hybrid game that combined tactical combat with card games is reportedly shutting down forever.
Duelyst has an amazing gameplay formula that was pretty entertaining and challenging. But, it seems like it never managed to pull in enough players to stick around. This keeps happening to these experimental titles a lot these days. I don’t know why, as the market could do with more experimental games. But, some manage to stay. Slay the Spire is another experimental card game and that one got a lot of attention. However, there’s one big difference between these two unique card games. Duelyst is one of those “games as a service”, an online-only title that aims to bring in continuous revenue. Slay the Spire, on the other hand, is an offline game that you can play without the internet whenever you want to. This is the devs’ official message:
We are saddened to announce that the Duelyst servers will be shutting down permanently on February 27th, 2020 at 3:00 PM PST. Saying goodbye to any game is never easy, and it’s always hardest when you love the game as much as we all love Duelyst. We’re incredibly proud of the effort our developers have put in on Duelyst over the years, and even more proud of the amazing community of friends and gamers that have enjoyed Duelyst.
Players will also no longer be able to buy Diamonds. All Diamond purchases that were made between December 21st and January 24th can be refunded.
Try the game for free while you still can. If you wish to play another experimental card game, I suggest Slay the Spire. You can pick it up on HRK Game for a great price right now!
