For about a year now, people have been anticipating and appreciating the arrival of Dragon Ball FighterZ. And why not? The game is pure anime fighting title in the best way possible. It has the style of the anime mixed with the simple but deep fighting game system that has people coming back for more. Yet, there’s another Dragon Ball title out there that is just as good and almost as popular, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. The game has sold very well on multiple systems, and Bandai Namco has taken notice.
After all, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 was meant to only have “a year” of extra content. And yet, here we are over a year and a half later and DLC is still coming. Now, the team is teasing even more content still via a new video. In it, producer Masayuki Hirano made the following announcement:
It’s not the end of Xenoverse 2 yet. And we aim to optimize the online experience for all users with free updates. We will be addressing the network connection issues you may be encountering during battle, and we also plan to make adjustments and balances to the skills / attacks, as well as the rules so that battling each other online is a more streamlined experience for everyone.
He went on:
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 still has much more to offer, so although Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and Dragon Ball FighterZ are very different in genre, we would like to keep expanding both worlds, so that players can continue enjoying the game for a long period of time.
He’s right that Xenoverse 2 and FighterZ are very different in style and substance, and that’s why people can play both and not feel things getting repetitive. And I’m sure that this announcement will please many who are enjoying the title and want to keep enjoying it.
