Dragon Ball FighterZ is already a massively impressive game. The title brings together a lot of history from the beloved Dragon Ball anime and stuffs it into a beautifully rendered 2D style fighting game. Truly, the franchise has never had a game quite like this before, which makes it all the more special. But what’s also special is the roster in the game, because it’s a perfect collection of characters from the various animes and beyond. And a new arrival is about to shake things up.
As we announced previously, the first two DLC characters for Dragon Ball FighterZ is going to be Bardock (father of Goku) and Broly. Well, Broly has just gotten his official trailer, and it shows just how much of a physical threat he is. Broly is oozing with power, and it shows in not just his strikes, but his energy blasts.
It also doesn’t help that he sounds insane as he laughs at his opponent’s misfortune, but then again, that’s exactly who Broly is.
For those who aren’t familiar with the lore, Broly was once a proud resident of planet Vegeta (home of the Saiyans). Back in the day, it was believed that only one Saiyan every 1000 years would get to go to the level of Super Saiyan (anyone who knows the series knows why that’s funny to say now). Well, before the time of Goku, Broly was believed to be that Saiyan. And in fact, they were right. But, upon getting stronger (and some crying from Goku, no joke), Broly went insane, and had to be sealed and sent away.
When he returned, and found out about Goku being alive, he made it his mission to kill him. And he almost did.
There’s no exact date for Broly’s arrival, but we wouldn’t be surprised if he arrived soon.
