The time has finally come, the battles are officially ready to begin. For after months of waiting, anticipation, and numerous trailers and breakdown videos, Dragon Ball FighterZ is officially here. The game that made an instant splash the moment it arrived at the Microsoft Press Conference at E3 last year, the game that wowed people with its visuals (that looked right out of the anime), and impressed with its 3v3 gameplay, is now available for you to get your hands on yourself. So, what are you waiting for?
Wait, you want us to keep talking about Dragon Ball FighterZ? Ok!. Well, the game is made by Arc Systems, who is the team behind the BlazBlue and Guilty Gear fighting series (both very respected in their own rights). And those games clearly influenced this one, from the style of play, to the tag-matches you can have, it’s all there for you to witness.
But more importantly than that, this game not only respects Dragon Ball history, it honors it. The game goes deep into the Dragon Ball mythology not just with the storyline (which will get to in a bit), but in the character interactions. If you pair up certain characters, you’ll get scenes that reference past events in the series. What’s more, you actually get to relive some of those battles for yourself, like Goku vs. Frieza. Gohan vs. Cell. Goku vs. Beerus. And so on and so forth.
As for the main storyline, you’ll get to witness an all-new story that features a brand new villain in Android 21, a character made by Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama. What’s more, though she’s an android, she’ll have the ability to transform into a Majin Buu-like character, which is a twist in and of itself.
Plus, naturally, the game features online play and leaderboards so you can put your skills to the test to be the best FighterZ out there. So go get Dragon Ball FighterZ today!
