Dragon Ball FighterZ Has Already Sold 2 Million Copies Worldwide
There was a lot of big name releases in January, which is interesting considering it was the beginning of a new year. However, no game had more hype and intrigue going into it than Dragon Ball FighterZ. For this game had been teased and hyped for months following its debut at E3 2017. But not only were fan expectations high, but publisher expectations too, as Bandai Namco had to think that the game would sell well because of all the hype. Right? Well, their thoughts were true.
For Bandai Namco has revealed that Dragon Ball FighterZ has reached 2 million in sales already, and remember that it launched basically 5 days ago. Add to that, the game only released in Japan and other key regions today, which means that this number is no doubt going to skyrocket. Previous regions it released in were the US, UK, and Southeast Asia, so that’s impressive that the game did that well in so few regions.
Bandai Namco also noted that this is the fastest-selling title in Dragon Ball history, with the previous holder of that title being Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. Which did extremely well across many platforms. So FighterZ is getting honors all around.
And it’s not hard to see why, the game stylistically looks exactly like the anime it’s inspired off of. What’s more, the gameplay mechanics are simple, yet refined. You don’t have to be an expert fighting gamer to play the title, you just have to be able to understand a few button commands and be willing to mix things up.
So, what’s next for Dragon Ball FighterZ? Well, aside from a more worldwide release, many are hoping that the title will release on Nintendo Switch. Bandai Namco said that if the release of Xenoverse 2 did well on Switch, it would consider it. Well, it did, so now we’re waiting for it.
Also, you can expect DLC to come out for the game as well.
