First off, it has to be said that Doomfist is by far the most anticipated hero to be added to Overwatch. The character has been teased for such a long time now, and is currently playable in the game’s PTR. After such a long wait, it has now been confirmed that he will be made available to the general public on July 27th.
To accompany the announcement, Blizzard has also released a preview of Doomfist which you can see below. This boasts a behind-the-scenes look at his development, as well as developer commentary to provide a deep insight into his creation.
As for Doomfist himself, he is a powerful yet mobile hero, lining up alongside the offensive set of characters in Overwatch. His handcannon hands out damage at range, whilst he can also smash the ground and knock his opponents skyward. He also has a Rocket Punch attack, which sees him lunge forward after charging up and knocks to opponent back. As for his ultimate, Meteor Strike, this has Doomfist leaping into the air and smashing into the ground below, dealing plentiful damage.
Doomfist heads to Overwatch on July 27th, 2017. The game is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
