The Division Update 1.8 Releases Soon
The Division is a very curious game. It was announced years ago, and yet it kept getting delayed, so much so in fact that many wondered if it would ever release. Then, when it did release in March of last year, it was flocked with technical problems that they had to work constantly on to fix. But, Ubisoft kept going, and they continued to evolve the game until it was something truly special. And now, nearly two years after release, they continue to do so.
Today, an announcement will be made by Ubisoft about when the next major update for The Division will come. Update 1.8 will be bringing many new things to the game, including a couple of new gameplay modes. All of which was revealed in a special “State of the Game” address by Ubisoft.
For example, one of the new modes is called Resistance. It’s a PVE mode where players will have to use tech to build up defenses to fight off enemy factions.
Another major gameplay mode that’s being added via Update 1.8 is called “Skirmish”. In this mode, it’ll be 4-on-4, with an emphasis on close-quarters-combat. This should be a nice change of pace for those who have grown a little tired of simple gunfights.
But, of course, that’s not the only thing that’s changing, for The Division is also revamping some areas that already exist in the game. The Underground for example, that will be getting a slew of new Directives, and checkpoints, and even chances for new gear. Speaking of gear, there will be some new optimization options for you to do.
If that’s still not enough, the map of the game is getting expanded to include the West Side Pier.
All of this and more will arrive via Update 1.8, stay tuned for release date information from Ubisoft.
