Ubisoft has marked the second anniversary of Tom Clancy’s The Division by announcing that they have reached a milestone of 20 million players worldwide. As a thanks to players for supporting the game, there are a month’s worth of activities planned running to March 29th, with a global event taking place each week. This will offer modifiers to in-game activities, with special cosmetic and gameplay rewards also being available.
Eager players can check out the gameplay streams as well as the Weekly State of the Game through the official Division Twitch channel at 8am PST for Twitch Drops, which bring livestream viewers in-game rewards throughout March. Those who spend over 30 minutes watching the livestream will unlock prizes, so make sure to have linked your Ubisoft/Twitch accounts to do so.
Before the game launched, The Division had broken records for the largest Beta phases for a new franchise, coming in at 6.4 million players. When it did launch, it became the fastest-selling new franchise and has since released three expansions, as well as nine significant updates that brought new modes, map expansions, incursions, gameplay balancing and overall quality of life improvements.
Julian Gerighty, the creative director of the game, commented:
“We are very proud of what we have achieved during these past 2 years. Listening and giving back to the community has always been our first objective and we would like to thank all The Division players for their valuable feedback and their support.”
