Discord Is Now Officially Selling Video Games

Discord, which was a chat platform a few months ago, is now selling games and even offers a premium subscription service.

Why is everyone trying to have their own game store today? Do people not know that platforms like Steam and GOG exist? They wrote a blog explaining why actually, if you want to read it. Anyhow, Discord has opened up its game store to everyone. The whole thing is in a open beta of some kind, and everyone can start buying games there. Their Nitro subscription service is also available, but we’re going to talk about that later.

The prices on the Discord game store aren’t anything to brag about. They seem pretty normal. Why would anyone buy their games here instead of Steam or GOG then? We aren’t sure, but the site does have certain games that are currently only available there. Other notable titles include games like Frostpunk, Starbound, Into The Breach, Pillars of Eternity II, Subnautica, and so on.

As far as the Nitro program is concerned, it also doesn’t seem like anything special. It’s pretty much the same thing as Origin Access. You pay a certain amount of money each month in order to get access to various popular titles. Keep in mind, this isn’t a special deal, but it isn’t a bad one either, even though the selection of games right now isn’t all that big. But, it will keep expanding and more games will get added over time.

What do you think, will Discord’s game store be a successful endeavor? Or will it slowly wither away in the shadow of its competitors?

My team and I decided to launch a new Discord server for our gaming community, and we needed several accounts. Creating them manually would be too labor-intensive, so I started looking for alternative solutions. And so, I found a site offering buy old discord account. This saved us a lot of time and effort. Thanks to this resource, we were able to quickly launch our server and start inviting new participants.
